Preschool & Pre-K

This is such a very special time in your child’s life. At Stonebrook Day School we prepare your child for entrance into the kindergarten and elementery school environment. Our carefully prepared surroundings are designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years— those times when there is a readiness to learn specific skills. Rich classroom environments, full of hundreds of learning materials, facilitate the learning of skills moving from the concrete to abstract learning process. They are designed to put children at ease by giving them freedom within limits -- a safe place to grow and learn with qualified, caring teachers.

Playground

Learning is not emphasized at the expense of play. We believe constructive play is an important component of building a well rounded child. Play activities are designed to promote socialization skills and to allow your child to enjoy themselves during this very special time of their life.

Stonebrook Day School is the only preschool and pre-K facility in the Murfreesboro area to provide children with a natural playground. This exciting state of the art concept and new addition was just recently completed.

Language and Reading Readiness

Stonebrook Day School takes a comprehensive approach to reading readiness that includes letter recognition and phonics, plus many opportunities to experience the joy of books.

Computer Lab

Using computers is a major component of our PreK program, allowing your child to practice and develop new skills through a variety of language, literacy, math and science lessons. Students learn about computers and technology in an environment that emphasizes collaboration and cooperation.

Nutrition

Nutritional requirements are a big part of the Stonebrook Day School Preschool program. Healthy, balanced meals are provided for all preschoolers, or special diets can be provided by parents. Children learn about health and nutrition as part of their education. Building a sound understanding of good food and nutrition will stay with a child long after they leave our care.

WebCams

WebCams in all of our rooms and on the playgrounds allow parents and families to share in their child’s day. Parents and Grandparents can monitor activity from anywhere via the internet.
